Today's fresh: TPLO 2.4 mm with polyaxial precontured plate

The cranial cruciate ligament rupture of a 7-year-old 8 kg active mix dog was solved a year ago with a precontured polyaxial 2.4mm system, now the other leg has been laid out, and this plate was used here as well. The stability of the system, its fit to the bone and the good healing can be measured nicely on the 1-year control X-ray.

The 2.4 system is great to use where the 2.0mm is already small, but the 2.7mm is still very big. This is a populous family of 6-14 kg dogs, according to our own data for 2021, the 2.4 mm size makes up 14% of all TPLO surgeries!

Recommended for R12 or R15 blades.

The screws have a TORX head and can be used with a T8 screwdriver.

A mini-hole on the proximal piece of the plate and a temporarily used 1.0 mm K-wire drilled through it facilitate installation, as the plate has only a polyaxial hole. It is important that it is not necessary to tighten the screws with a hand-held screwdriver with high force, as is recommended for monoaxial systems, but it is sufficient to use the screwdriver with three fingers ("3 finger technique"), this force is sufficient for maximum fastening!

7 éves 8 kg-os aktív keverék kutya elülső kereszteződő szalagszakadástát egy évvel ezelőtt előhajlított poliaxiális 2,4-es rendszerrel oldottuk meg, most a másik lába került terítékre, is itt is ezt a lemezt alkalmaztuk. A 2,4-es rendszer kiválóan alkalmazható ott, ahol a 2,0mm-es már kicsinek bizonyul, de a 2,7mm-es még nagyon nagy. Ez a 6-14 kg-os kutyák népes családja, 2021-es saját adataink szerint az összes TPLO műtét 14%-át teszi ki a 2,4 mm méret!

Használata R12 vagy R15 pengék esetén ajánlott.

A csavarok TORX fejűek, T8 csavarhúzóval használható.

A lemez proximális darabján elhelyezett mini furat, és az azon keresztül megfúrt, ideiglenesen használt 1,0 mm K-szeg a felhelyezést könnyíti meg, ugyanis a lemezen csak poliaxiális furat van. Fontos, hogy a csavarokat nem szükséges marokra fogott csavarhúzóval, nagy erővel meghúzni, mint azt a monoaxiális rendszereknél ajánlott, hanem elegendő a csavarhúzót három ujjal használni („ 3ujj technika”), a maximális rögzítéshez elegendő ez az erő is!
