If it's shoulder arthrodesis, then SOP-LC!

Arthrodesis is typically an area where the advantages of SOP-LC are clearly visible.

There is no weak point in bridging the joint, which is inevitable in a plate bridging. Another great advantage is that the clamps can be placed according to anatomical needs, on either side of the rod and the screws can be inserted in any direction. Maximum stability is provided by the locking clamps, which is especially advantageous in a thin bone (scapula) or a bone with a porotic or thinned cortex (leg that has been used less for a long time). We have used the system several times in reoperations due to a broken plate.

In our case, we created a shoulder arthrodesis on an 11-year-old 16kg female beagle dog with a 2.7 SOP-LC system and 4-4 clamps. The dog developed chronic arthritis and arthrosis, the biopsy did not confirm a tumor, only chronic inflammation.

The video shows the 1-month control, the dog is using its legs more and more skillfully and pain-free, her well-being has improved a lot.

Az arthrodesis tipikusan olyan terület, ahol az SOP-LC előnyei egyértelműen látszak.

Az ízület áthidalásánál nincs gyenge pont, ami egy lemezes áthidalásnál elkerülhetetlen. A másik nagy előny, hogy a bilincsek az anatómiai igényeknek megfelelően helyezhetők, a rúd bármely oldalán és a csavarok bármilyen irányban behelyezhetők. A maximális stabilitást a szögstabil bilincsek adják, amely egy vékony csontnál (scapula) vagy egy poroticus esetleg elvékonyodott kortexű csontnál (régóta kevésbé használt láb) különösen előnyös. A rendszert többször használtuk törött lemez miatti újra operációnál.

Esetünkben egy 11 éves 16kg-os nőstény beagle kutyán vállarthrodesist alakítottunk ki 2,7-es SOP-LC rendszerrel, és 4-4 bilinccsel. A kutyának krónikus ízületi gyulladása és arthrosisa alakult ki, a biopszia daganatot nem igazolt, csak idült gyulladást.

A videón az 1 hónapos kontroll látszik, a kutya egyre ügyesebben és fájdalommentesen használja a lábát, közérzete sokat javult.
